For this September’s Neuroscientist of the Month, we introduce Lavinia Uscătescu, a postdoctoral researcher in the lab of Dr Michal Assaf at the Olin Neuropsychiatry Research Centre at Yale University.
Lavinia’s research focusses on studying the diagnostic overlap of patients with autism spectrum disorder and schizophrenia using neuroimaging data, specifically fMRI, and eye-tracking.
She previously obtained her PhD from the University of Salzburg, Austria, for neuroimaging research on patients with schizophrenia.
Lavinia is very passionate about mentoring and empowering young researchers, as well as science communication. She has recently been selected to join the Communications Committee of the Organization for Human Brain Mapping.
