Shirine Moukaled
Graduate Researcher
Tulane University
I am a first-generation PhD student in neuroscience with a passion for neuroepidemiology and clinical neuroscience, as well as a strong interest in addressing health disparities. Under the guidance of Dr. Lydia Bazzano, I'm investigating the impact of cardiovascular risk factors on cognitive functioning in a mixed-race, low SES, rural cohort. Through my work, I hope to contribute to the development of effective interventions for the prevention and treatment of neurological disorders, while also addressing disparities in healthcare. Aside from my academic work, I enjoy volunteering with organizations that promote science education and outreach.
