Associate professor Maryam Ziaei is a Leader of the Aging Neuroscience Group at the Kavli Institute for Systems Neuroscience in Norway, where she investigates neurocognitive mechanisms that protect individuals from mood disorders in late adulthood. In her research, she uses a combination of structural and functional in vivo imaging, behavioral paradigms, and ecological assessment of emotional experiences in daily life, to link lab-based assessments to real-life experiences. She has more than ten years of experience in designing, analyzing, and publishing fMRI data in leading journals in the field of functional imaging and affective neuroscience.
